Pressmag Magnetic Clamping Systems for Moulds

This system consists of two magnetic chucks and a control unit and reduces the mould changing time below to 3 minutes. EPM platens have no moving parts such as bolt screw, eyebolt, etc. The magnetic configuration of each EPM platen is specially designed and magnetized in France.

EPM electro permanent system's powerful permanent magnets ensure secure clamping. Electrical current is only required for magnetizing and demagnetizing and not at all during mould clamping interval. There is no restriction for mould weight, height or machine tonnage. In Turkey, many companies use these machines, for example there are many platens that are clamping 6-ton mould in various factories proving the system's excellent quality.

Clamping Procedure

1. Microprocessor centers the mould on the base plate.

2. Moving plate closes on the mould.

3. Operator turns the security key once and then presses the magnetization button. For that fixed and moving platens receives magnetism.

4. Press is ready to use.

How it works

OFF position:
Magnets are not active in terms of magnetism.

ON Position:
The system is magnetized when an electric current is passed for a few milliseconds through the coil to energize the magnet material. The pole face of the platen becomes active and clamps the mould. The system is demagnetized by a further electrical pulse to deactivate the pole face of the platen.

The "EXTRA" advantage of the PRESSMAG system

The Pressmag System has taken electro permanent technology into a new and advanced dimension with the unique configuration of shoe poles that are especially designed to maximize flux concentration and give a greater magnetic coverage area. This produces exceptionally high forces of attraction, and ensures that the mould is clamped in complete safety during the injection moulding process.
