Profile and Hose Baking Units
Salt Bath Vulcanization Unit (LCM)
The salt bath is used to heat and vulcanize sealing profiles made of compact,
microporous and mainly peroxide-cured rubber compounds with or without a metal carrier. All functional groups are of completely modular design.
This allows a line equipped specifically for the customer’s need or the process requirements. Because of the adjustable and tiltable infeed conveyor, it is possible to change the extrusion dies uninterrupted and to thread the profiles over the entire length of the line with pneumatic opening of the lower door segments. In case of combined spray/immersion lines the profile surfaces and profile lips are sprayed thoroughly with salt at the beginning of the treatment section.
The immersion roller sections are divided into two or more sections with separate drives, guaranteeing a safe transportation of the profiles and to compensating for profile elongation. Knock rollers and hot-air nozzles thoroughly pre-clean the profiles and keep the salt discharge to a minimum. The remaining salt is removed in the washing section that follows. This combined device for washing, cooling and recycling makes production environmentally friendly to the utmost degree.

Hot Air Channels Vulcanization Unit (HLK/HLKK)
Within a profile, the hot air channels type HLK/HLKK are used to vulcanize sealing profiles of compact, microporous and mainly
sulphur-cured rubber compounds.
The inner channel walls are made of good heat-conducting materials and high-quality insulated sheet metal covering. The transport of the profile is accomplished by smooth conveyor belts or appropriately shaped roller sections.
The direct heating of the air blown through the channel is affected by compact electrical blower-heater combinations or optionally by an economical gas-burner system. The hot air flow with a variable temperature of up to 300 °C enables the heat to be optimally transferred at the profile surface and to accelerate the beginning vulcanization. The hot air channel type HLK/HLKK is designed such that the condensation of gaseous compound ingredients is prevented even in case of the smallest hot air quantities.
Efficient energy utilization in the profile vulcanization is also an essential feature of the electro-technical equipment of this hot air channel type. The PLC controls all drives, the synchronous starting-up and shutting-down and regulates the hot air circuits and auxiliary units as well as the line speed and the set point presenting for the temperatures of the hot air zones.

Microwave Vulcanization Unit (MWK)
The Microwave Unit is used to heat polar, compact and micro porous rubber compounds. The rubber compounds must be suited to the absorption of microwave energy. With a compound that is suitable for micro waving, energy absorption efficiency of 60-80% can be achieved.
The housing consists of a sturdy frame with insulated sheet metal covering. The channel and housing covers are operated pneumatically. During normal operation, the covers are locked in position and electronically interlocked for safety. The smooth inner channel walls are anodized aluminum, are good heat conductors and reduce microwave leakage.
The expansion of the channel partitions is compensated for by floating bearing assemblies. The intake and exit-side channel openings reduce microwave leakage to acceptable levels through highly absorbent special materials.
