Krauss-Maffei showcases new CX variant for multicomponent moulding
Productivity gains in multicomponent technology
Visitors to the Fakuma 2005 will witness the launch of the new multicomponent variant in Krauss-Maffei's CX series of injection moulding machines. Multicomponent moulding can now profit from the reliability, productivity and extreme user-friendliness of the CX series.
The multicomponent CX machine has an integrated electric turntable which can rotate as the mould opens. These parallel movements shortens cycle time significantly. With Krauss-Maffei's patented eccentric ring, the nozzle-side mould half can be centred in relation to the turntable, minimizing wear on the mould.
Krauss-Maffei makes the turntables as well as the machines, so that customers get the extra benefits of buying a single-vendor multicomponent machine. Control of turntable movement is fully integrated in the MC5 control.
The second injection unit can be vertical, horizontal or piggybacked. This versatility makes it a simple matter to customize a CX machine ton suit technical requirements and the available floorspace.
At the Fakuma 2005, a KM 80 – 180/180 CX will be producing two-component connector sockets for the automotive sector using PP and TPE with a 30 s cycle time. In this configuration, the second injection unit is vertical.
Demand for two- and multi-component moulded parts is growing all the time, especially in automotive, electrical/electronic, medical and packaging applications. Using Krauss-Maffei's highly efficient and flexible manufacturing systems, processors can take advantage of this trend.
